It’s a phrase which has been introduced to us through film and television, but which now has many links to the type of computer or video game which we can buy in the shops and run on our own humble computer systems. So what exactly is CGI, what does it stand for, and what does it mean?

The letters CGI stand for Computer Generated Imagery, and refers to any visual image, whether static or moving, that has been either completely created by a computer system, or at least partly created or embellished by computers. CGI has been one of the most significant markers used to identify the developments in technology, the advances in the hardware, and the developments in software systems and those who use them.

When the idea of using images that have been created on a computer was first introduced to us in television and film, it was fairly obvious which bits were real, and which bits had been added in or replaced using a computer. Sometimes reality and the computer images were combined in a single picture, but more usually they were quite separate. However, as technology has advanced so far and achieved so much in recent years, the use of CGI has massively increased the quality of image that is seen by the viewer, to the point where today it is very difficult, and often impossible, for anyone but the experts to be able to distinguish between what is real, and what is not.

For film and television companies it is often the case that either certain shots or images can only be generated on a computer, simply because they don’t exist in reality – such as living, breathing dinosaurs, or a spaceship flying into a black hole – these have to be done on a computer if they’re going to be used at all. To a large extent, this capability has determined the actual content of films and programs, with producers using these tricks to embellish the storyline.

The other reason they’re used is either down to cost or safety. If a building is going to explode, having a CG model of the building and having the computer create an explosion effect will still look realistic, but can be filmed from any angle, edited and adjusted over and over to get it just right, and with absolutely no danger to anyone. To do the same thing in reality would cost a fortune, be almost impossible to do repeatedly because of time and cost, and real explosions always have the possibility that someone could be injured.

So what does CGI have to do with computers? Often video games and computer games are developed alongside films and television programs, and this can often result in models and scenes being developed for the program at the same time as for the game. This results in a computer or video game which is genuinely seamless when compared to the program. It is this use of CGI across the media, and this seamlessness which increasingly means that video games are an extension of the film or program – that broadcast media is now becoming inclusive and active, rather than a mere passive opportunity.

Although the games are similar No limit Texas Holdem requires higher skill levels and a killer instinct, if these two factors are combined players can make a lot of money

If you are serious about making big money in Texas Holdem, forget limit games and play no limits and with the right skills and mindset your earnings power is unlimited.

Let’s look at the major differences between the two games and why no limit Texas Holdem is the game for the serious player.

Psychology is more important

In limit Hold’em, “the best hand wins” more often than no limit Holdem and this is really because the stakes are lower and it is far easier for your opponents to play you, as their risk is essentially limited.

In no limits games, psychology is far more important and you are essentially playing your opponent, NOT the cards and you need not only skill but a strong mindset as you battle with your opponents.

A More Skilfull Game

No limit Holdem a wider array of strategies for a skilled player to use against unskilled opponents than in limit games.

In a no limit game, skills such as bluffing and varying bet size can be used more effectively, to wrong foot other players.

Courage and being on the offensive

In both limit and no limit, being on the offensive is more favorable than being the caller.

No limit games put a far higher premium on initiative then limit games.

You can make large bets, raise and go on the offensive.

Betting and raising have much more influence in no limit games and if you have the skill and courage you can use them at the right time to crush your opponents.

No limit Texas Holdem is a brutal game and only the strong survive.

It’s a game where courage and a strong psychology are needed to execute the skills a player has to win big pots. Chip Size

In no limit Holdem, the amount of chips that a person has, is one of the largest factors affecting play against them.

If you have $4000 in front of you and your opponent has $500, you immediately have the upper hand and an advantage over them.

The size of the bankroll you have at your disposal, against other players, is a major factor in the way you play which is not present in limit games.

Only the strong survive

Limit Holdem poker has favorable odds, which means players can call you easily.

The problem for the more skillful player is other players run them down in many instances with stupid hands.

This is because they don’t really know how to play, but a more important factor is that the odds are favorable and they don’t have so much to lose, so it’s worth the risk.

This of course is not so in no .limits games and good players can take out novice players and weak hands quickly.

Bigger Pots

No limits games have more money at stake compared to limit games and the potential gains and losses are far higher. If you are a skillful player this is to your advantage.

If you have the courage and skill, you can take an opponent in one hand for his entire bankroll and knock them out of the game.

Skilful card players, playing No limit Texas Holdem poker have far greater potential to make more money and win bigger pots.

That’s why it’s a much more attractive game for the player serious about winning big pots.

No Limit the choice of the serious player

No Limit Texas Holdem is a brutal game, mistakes are punished and the game gives players far more scope, in terms of skill and the ability to gain a psychological edge.

Back when video games first came out, there was Atari, and it came with games like Pac Man, Galaga, Millipede, and more. These games weren’t very expensive, and many households, despite their income, bought them for their kids.

Nowadays, there are numerous types of video games for several game systems. These modern game systems are a lot more expensive, making it difficult for every household to purchase them for their children. There is even a game system, the Nintendo Wii, which makes playing games feel like you’re actually on screen playing. If you are playing a bowling game on the brand-new Nintendo Wii, you actually roll a real bowling ball, and at the same time, you see yourself on the screen, actually playing. It’s a real technological advance! And it’s very fun and exciting for children as well as adults.

There are many different games for these various game consoles, such as football, basketball, baseball, and a real favorite for many people, Nascar. In the Nascar game, you can setup your own car, by choosing different tracks, just like you’re actually on a real race track. You can adjust the track bar on the car and change tires, and then it’s like you’re actually racing for the Nextel Cup, in real life. The graphics on these games are unreal, and it’s just like watching a game or TV. You choose the team that you want, and play someone else. Also, you can customize your game, and that is fun, too, especially when you’re beating your opponent.

There are also tournaments on these video games, especially the football and basketball ones. They will have up to a hundred people or more involved in these tournaments, and whoever wins first, second and third place wins prize money. There is also a show on ESPN that has actual tournaments, with the first prize being $100, 000. That certainly is a lot of money just to play a game on television. But there are so many people who practice frequently, just to be able to be part of such a tournament. They must figure out different defenses for their players, and the same for the offense. So, as you can say, video game playing is a billion dollar industry. And it’s obvious that they’re not just for kids, because what kid is going to be on ESPN? Not many, because most parents wouldn’t allow it.

—what are the advantages of online games?
—what are the disadvantages of online games?
—-what makes this game so addicting?

The advantages are that the player feels passion, thrill and demostrates competition.

The disadvantages are that they are a distraction by taking academic time and could weaken your eyes.

What makes them so addicting is the control you have and the game is dependant on you, that is the power that is addicting.

I am in the market for a new computer and I’d like something that will be able to meet the requirements for playing computer games. I’m not looking for top of the line equipment, just something that will get me by without too many problems. If anyone could give me some advice on these areas, I’d appreciate it:

1. CPU (Minimum Athlon/Intel processors to consider)

2. RAM (1 GB or 2 GB? And what type of RAM?)

3. Video Card (I need the most help with this, every computer I’ve ever bought seems to come up short in this area).

I’d welcome any other advice or comments you might have. Thanks in advance!

core 2 duo is whats good right now. no need for a quad core. p4 are still very usuable if you cant afford a core 2 duo, but it would be worth the extra investment to get it. core 2 takes less power to run and performs better especially if your multitasking.

1gb is pretty close to the min system requirements for the newer games, id go with 2gb for optimal performance.it will be ddr2 most likely

the 8 series from nvidia is the newest. with the 8800 being the top of the line. but since you dont need the best you can get a 8600gts which is what i bought for aorund $175. or the 8500 for around $75 if you look for the good deals. The 8 series cards also have directx10. if you dont have windows vista or dont plan to upgrade it tohugh you can get some of the 7 series cards that are as good as the lower end 8 series but they only have dx9. for the 7 series id get something like the 7900. also check to see if your mobo is sli rdy so you can use to video cards of the type to get even better performance.

I play PSP mostly and really enjoyed it. Trying to find other games that play like that.

On the DS and GBA there’s the Advance Wars and Fire Emblem series which Field Commander borrows heavily from.

What are some good racing games and fighting games for the Wii. If you’re answering about racing, do not say Excite Truck. I have that game but it’s too boring (after you beat the game) and multiplayer sucks. Here’s a list if you need help:

Racing Games For Wii:
Cars
GT Pro Series
Monster 4×4: World Circuit
Need For Speed: Carbon

Fighting Games For Wii:
Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 2
Legend Of The Dragon
Mortal Kombat: Armageddon

What are some good racing or fighting game for the Wii out of the games listed above and why?

get super smash bros brawl man it will totally rule except it will come out in Dec 3rd but it will be totally worth buying
